The Four Corners Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Hope Academy, falling 89-53. While losing is never fun, Four Corners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 625th, while Hope Academy is ranked 121st).
Four Corners' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ian Parham, who scored 16 points. Parham scored a full 30.2% of Four Corners' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kesh Harpal was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Hope Academy found their leader in underclassman Dwayne Foreman III, who scored 23 points along with six assists and four steals. The match was Foreman III's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Shine, who scored 18 points.
Four Corners' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Hope Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Four Corners will take on Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Discovery's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. Hope Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Cocoa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
