Kendall P. made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. P. was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Mattie Canupp was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Erica Kuhnash, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Badin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop McNicholas only posted an OBP of .217.
Meanwhile, Bellbrook fell victim to Miami East and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Golden Eagles were not able to get on the board.
Badin's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bellbrook, they moved to 12-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Badin came up short against Bellbrook in their previous matchup back in April of 2023, falling 6-3. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
