Baseball Recap: Greenback Has No Trouble Against Harriman

Greenback's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Harriman Blue Devils 12-2. Considering the Cherokees have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

JJ Caudill made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Caudill was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Noah Graves, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Cooper Holt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Greenback was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harriman only posted a batting average of .267.

Greenback is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Harriman, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Greenback will head out on the road to take on Cosby at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Harriman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cumberland County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
