After having lost a blowout in their previous game against More, the El Primero Lobos were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They blew past Mountain View Academy 55-26 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win El Primero has managed all season.
El Primero was led to victory by RICARDO GARCIA and JOSH CHAVEZ. GARCIA dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 rebounds, and 11 blocks, while CHAVEZ dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds. GARCIA also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of GUSTAVO MALVAES, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Mountain View Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christopher Mercado, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Daniel Malo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
El Primero's victory bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Mountain View Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
El Primero will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. KIPP San Jose Collegiate is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Mountain View Academy, they will square off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
