Softball Recap: Mississinewa Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Mississinewa won the last time they faced Elwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Indians were the clear victors by a 14-1 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won four games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Lilah Greer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amiyaa Parr-Inman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Jaeli Miller also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mississinewa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elwood only posted an OBP of .111.

Mississinewa is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Elwood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Mississinewa will head out to square off against Eastbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Elwood, they will welcome Frankton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.1 runs per game this season.
