It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cedar had no problem doing just that on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ogden Tigers 49-14. The victory was just business as usual for the Reds, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Everett Kelling had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 221 yards and three TDs while completing 73.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 38 yards and one touchdown. A healthy portion of Kelling's aerial production (100 yards to be exact) went to Dylan Crowley, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Jack Thompson and Blake Weston certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Thompson picked up 124 receiving yards and one score, while Weston threw for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Thompson didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended three passes.
Cedar's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Ogden, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5.
Looking ahead, Cedar will square off against Juab at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Ogden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
