The Wright City Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 82-26 loss at the hands of Clopton. Wright City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.
Clopton found their leader in underclassman Charleigh Spoonster, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. Spoonster is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Campbell Lindsay, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Wright City has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Clopton, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-6.
Wright City will look to defend their home court on Monday against Van-Far at 5:30 p.m. Wright City is on a three-game streak of home losses, Van-Far a nine-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Clopton, they will head out on the road to square off against Bowling Green at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
