Pioneer Valley Regional put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Greenfield Green Wave. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Ben Werner was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Alex McClelland was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Evan Tsipenyuk, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
