Bangor and Palisades are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Slaters will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bangor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Bangor took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They came out on top against Catasauqua by a score of 6-1.
Owen Mera spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Bangor's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 2-6-1 when he doesn't).
