The Master's Academy and Community Christian Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Lions will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. The Master's Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.5 runs per game this season.
The Master's Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Pinnacle Classical Academy just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 15-5 to the Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered since March 24th.
Bear LaSelle made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Pate, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Community Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 6-3 to Pinnacle Classical Academy. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Cole Richardson was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.
Richardson wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kendell Hale, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Community Christian Academy's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for The Master's Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. The Master's Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Community Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
