If The Fowler Redcats were riding high off their 48-12 takedown of the Yosemite Badgers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Fowler fell just short of Caruthers by a score of 37-35. Fowler gained 151 more yards on the day, but it was Caruthers that made the best of use of them.
When it comes to explaining why Fowler lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Jerod Bubba smith. Despite the final result, he threw for 364 yards and five touchdowns. Diego Diaz also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
It was another big night for Hunter Babb, who rushed for 251 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Babb hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for ten straight games.
Fowler's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Caruthers, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fowler will take on Lindsay at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Caruthers, they will be playing at home against Santa Maria at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
