The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks suffered their biggest  defeat since November 30, 2023 on Tuesday. They were the victim of a  rough 63-42 defeat at the hands of Rampart. While losing is never fun, Cheyenne Mountain can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 253rd, while Rampart is ranked 108th).
 Despite the loss, Cheyenne Mountain still got an impressive performance from   Ainsley Norton, who  scored 18 points along with five  steals and two  blocks. That was a full 42.9% of Cheyenne Mountain's points, marking the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Vianey Garcia-ramos, who  scored six points along with ten  rebounds.
 Rampart was led to victory by  Emily Huxtable and  Izzy Dalrymple.  Huxtable  dropped  a double-double on ten points and ten  assists, while  Dalrymple  scored 17 points along with four  steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Dalrymple has scored all season.  Gabriella Melecio was another key contributor,  scoring 17 points.
 Cheyenne Mountain bumped their record down to 2-8 with that  loss, which was their fourth straight  on the road dating back to last season. As for Rampart, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests,  which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season.
 Cheyenne Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Lutheran at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Rampart, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Pueblo South at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully Pueblo South focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
