The Bunker Hill Bears will square off against the East Burke Cavaliers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
East Burke will be up against a hot Bunker Hill team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Bears blew past Foard 8-1 on Wednesday. Considering the Bears have won eight matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Foard's batters probably weren't too happy with Serena Thurman, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up six walks). Thurman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Kylie Killian was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Ryhal, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles.
Bunker Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foard only posted an OBP of .259.
Meanwhile, East Burke had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Lincolnton with a sharp 9-1 win on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Addy Fortenberry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up six Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ally Boyette, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyndal Morrison, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.
Bunker Hill pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for East Burke, their victory bumped their record up to 5-20.
East Burke's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bunker Hill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .439. It's a different story for East Burke, though, as they've only averaged .358. Will they be able to contain Bunker Hill's hitters?
Bunker Hill was able to grind out a solid win over East Burke in their previous meeting on April 4th, winning 7-3. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
