Softball Recap: Marlee Smith Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Meridian

13 must be Sebastopol's lucky number: they beat Meridian with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Bobcats beat the Wildcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-3. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Kadence Robertson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Sebastopol got a massive performance out of Marlee Smith, who scored two runs while going 5-for-5. Cyrish Magculang was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

Sebastopol kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Sebastopol's victory bumped their record up to 20-2. As for Meridian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-13.
