The Slinger Owls will take on the West Bend West Spartans at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Slinger sitting on seven straight wins and West Bend West on three.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Slinger and Nicolet, and Slinger kept the tradition alive. The Owls blew past the Knights 11-2 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Owls, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Will Baumhardt looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Grady Chvosta, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Bend West and West Bend East faced off in a cross-town battle on Monday. The Spartans walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Suns. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
West Bend West let Ryan Rose and Quinlin Ehlke run wild. Rose went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Ehlke went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Ehlke a new career-high. Dieter Pommer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI.
West Bend West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Bend East only managed ten hits.
Slinger pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for West Bend West, their record is now 8-3.
Slinger beat West Bend West 6-2 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Owls since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
