Basketball Game Preview: South Gray Rebels vs. Minneola Wildcats

South Gray has gone 9-1 against Minneola recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The South Gray Rebels will look to defend their home court against the Minneola Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (South Gray has ten straight wins, Minneola has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, South Gray took their game with ease, bagging a 67-32 victory over Kiowa County. The Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 30 points or more this season.

Kylie Stapleton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points and three steals. The contest was her third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reegan Meairs, who posted nine points and three steals.

South Gray smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Minneola played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Hodgeman County and fell 62-22. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-14.

South Gray's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.3 points. As for Minneola, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for South Gray against Minneola in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as the team secured a 76-30 victory. Does South Gray have another victory up their sleeve, or will Minneola turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
