The Lufkin Panthers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They took down Kingwood Park 52-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lufkin also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Despite the defeat, Kingwood Park had strong showings from Aniah Cross, who scored 11 points, and Asia Martin, who scored eight points.
Lufkin's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-17. As for Kingwood Park, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-22 record this season.
Lufkin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kingwood Park will head out on the road to face off against the Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dayton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
