The Carol City Chiefs can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They blew past Somerset Academy Central Miramar 65-21 at home.
Carol City got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Decurtis Johnson out in front who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Mikaili Taylor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Somerset Academy Central Miramar's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Auguste, who scored six points.
Carol City's victory bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Somerset Academy Central Miramar, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8.
Carol City will face off against the Bears at TBD on Tuesday. Somerset Academy Central Miramar will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 4:00 p.m. on February 15th.
