Mt. St. Joseph Academy has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Brattleboro Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to Burr & Burton.
Meanwhile, Brattleboro pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They received a tough blow as they fell 72-55 to Rutland. Brattleboro has struggled against Rutland recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jack Cady, who scored 19 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Johnathon Haskins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Mt. St. Joseph Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Brattleboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
Mt. St. Joseph Academy came up short against Brattleboro in their previous matchup back in January, falling 56-45. Can Mt. St. Joseph Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
