Make it six blowout wins for the Cocoa Beach Minutemen this season. They were the clear victor by a 60-39 margin over Merritt Island. The win was nothing new for Cocoa Beach as they're now sitting on three straight.
Jay Matthews was his usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Max Louis, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Cocoa Beach's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Merritt Island, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cocoa Beach won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Satellite at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Merritt Island will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Edgewood at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Brayden Wasdin and Jayce Brandes.
