Baseball Recap: Douglas Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Douglas had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Pennington Tigers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-3 back in February.

The result came thanks to Bryce Hatley's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Baker Lyles and Bentley Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Lyles went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run, while Smith got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Maddox Duvall, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Douglas' record is now 12-7. As for Pennington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Douglas beat the Tigers by a score of 17-7 later that day.
