The Midview Middies will head out to square off against the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Olmsted Falls took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Midview, who comes in off a win.
Midview is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Elyria on Wednesday. The Middies were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Pioneers. The win continues a trend for the Middies in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won five in a row.
Savannah Holcomb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Midview let Liv Keenan and Nina Ballachino run wild. Keenan went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Ballachino went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Ballachino a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Briana Farkas, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Midview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elyria only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Olmsted Falls has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell 10-6 to Berea-Midpark. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
MOLLY SHEEHAN put in work no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.
SHEEHAN wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was ASHLEY SCOTT, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI. SYDNEY BUSSER was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Midview's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Olmsted Falls, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Everything went Midview's way against Olmsted Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Midview made off with a 17-5 win. Do the Middies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
