Anson was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  defeat. They fell just short of the Central Academy Cougars by a score of  5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Anson of the  12-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Brooklyn Miles was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring two  runs while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lauren Dutton, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2.
 On Central Academy's side,  Addison Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 17 Ks. Crawford has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Anna Croom was  incredible,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with a  home run and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Kieryn Peters, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-4.
 Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Central Academy, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record  this season.
 Anson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Academy, they will head out on the road to  take on  Piedmont at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Piedmont is on a four-game streak of home wins, Central Academy a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
