Basketball Recap: Johnston Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Johnston lost to Ankeny Centennial back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Johnston Dragons took down the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars 52-37. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Jaguars are ranked 241st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Johnston's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. As for Ankeny Centennial, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5.

Johnston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-61 defeat against Kennedy on the 4th. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will challenge Ankeny at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
