Spalding is 0-6 against Baldwin since January of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Spalding Jaguars will head out on the road to square off against the Baldwin Braves at 6:00 p.m. Spalding will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Baldwin is ranked 14th).
After a string of five wins, Spalding's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to Griffin on the road by a decisive 72-54 margin. Spalding has struggled against Griffin recently, as their contest on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Spalding got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Aaliyah Myers and
Kadin Johnson, who each put up no points.
Meanwhile, Baldwin entered their tilt with Washington County with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Baldwin came out on top against Washington County by a score of 57-45 on Saturday.
Spalding's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Baldwin, their victory was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Spalding was taken down by Baldwin 73-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Spalding avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
