Caro hasn't had much luck against Cass City recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will square off against the Red Hawks at 12:00 p.m. Caro will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Caro's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Bad Axe 22-0. Considering the Tigers have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wyatt Waterman made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Caro got a massive performance out of Trentin Hessling, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Hessling has become a key player for the Tigers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 12-15-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Olyver Downing, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and three RBI.
Caro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Cass City came out on top against Ogemaw Heights on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Red Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Falcons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Hawks have posted against the Falcons since May 17, 2021.
Mason Brown was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Matt Mellendorf, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Cass City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Caro, their win bumped their record up to 20-15-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Caro has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cass City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Caro skirted past Cass City 7-6 when the teams last played on May 1st. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
