Softball Recap: Rocky Hill Wins Going Away Against South Windsor

Rocky Hill was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against South Windsor on Friday. The Terriers blew past the Bobcats 11-3. While the Terriers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Rocky Hill let Lianna Tejada and Mia Cristalli run wild. Tejada went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Cristalli went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Cristalli is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. Gabriella Federici also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Rocky Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Windsor only posted a batting average of .241.

Rocky Hill's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for South Windsor, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Coming up, Rocky Hill will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bristol Eastern at 4:15 p.m. The Lancers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Terriers surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Windsor, they will head out on the road to take on Avon at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
