Even though the Warren County Screaming Devils have not done well against the Towns County Indians recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, Warren County made off with a 52-51 win over the Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Warren County.
Warren County found their leader in underclassman Jailee Allen, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alecia Tucker, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Towns County still got an impressive performance from Brelan Sieveking, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Sieveking hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Emma Lallement was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Warren County pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Towns County, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-8 record this season.
Warren County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Washington-Wilkes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 387th, while the Screaming Devils are ranked 162nd). As for Towns County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
