The Corinth Holders Pirates will take on the Garner Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Corinth Holders and Fuquay - Varina, and Corinth Holders kept the tradition alive. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Bengals on Tuesday.
Elizabeth McKenzie spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rachel Miura was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Ava Marks was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.
Corinth Holders was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Garner never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against South Garner as they made off with a 15-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the contest before.
The team relied heavily on Sam Hawkins, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Radford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Garner has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Corinth Holders, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Corinth Holders has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Garner struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Corinth Holders' way against Garner in their previous meeting back in March, as Corinth Holders made off with a 17-2 victory. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
