The West Wendover Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Battle Mountain Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. West Wendover will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
West Wendover is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Silver Stage by a score of 30-26 on Saturday.

West Wendover got a massive performance out of Brisieda Haro, who went 5-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those five hits gave Haro a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yaretzi Saucedo, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, five runs, and four RBI.
Haro wasn't the only one making solid contact: West Wendover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. That's a new trend for the Wolverines: they were averaging 4.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 14.
Meanwhile, Battle Mountain entered their tilt with Pershing County on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 12-0 shutout. Give the Longhorns' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
Battle Mountain also got a great performance from Aspen Swanger as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Swanger has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Matheus, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Jazmin Johnson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Battle Mountain's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for West Wendover, their record is now 6-13.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Wendover has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .652. However, it's not like Battle Mountain struggles in that department as they've averaged .778. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
West Wendover might still be hurting after the 16-0 defeat they got from Battle Mountain in their previous matchup last Monday. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
