Coconut Creek and Nova are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Coconut Creek Cougars are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Nova Titans at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Coconut Creek pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 86-55 defeat at the hands of Taravella. While losing is never fun, Coconut Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 701st, while Taravella is ranked 238th).
Despite the defeat, Coconut Creek got a solid performance out of McKevan Bell, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Bell set a new season high mark in steals with two. Another player making a difference was Fabrini Labrassere, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Nova's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-42 walloping at the hands of Chaminade-Madonna.
Coconut Creek bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Nova, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Coconut Creek beat Nova 67-59 in their previous meeting back in January of 2020. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coconut Creek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
