Basketball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Loomis

Ansley/Litchfield came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Loomis, but Tyson Essex wouldn't allow it. The Loomis Wolves blew past the Ansley/Litchfield Spartans 74-54 on Friday thanks in part to Essex, who went 8 of 14 from beyond the arc on his way to 34 points and six rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 17.5 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Arehart, who posted five points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Ansley/Litchfield still got an impressive performance from Luke Bailey, who went 12 of 23 on his way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. That was a full 48.1% of Ansley/Litchfield's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Schulte, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Loomis and bumps their season record up to 2-4. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Loomis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-66 loss against Southern Valley on the 21st. As for Ansley/Litchfield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-53 win against Central Valley on the 27th.
