The Eastern Warriors lost against the Peebles Indians two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Eastern took a 51-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. While losing is never fun, Eastern can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Indians are ranked 102nd).
Payton Johnson was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals for Peebles. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnson has scored at least a third of Peebles' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Maddox, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Eastern's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Peebles, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-2.
Eastern will head out on the road to challenge the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peebles, they will be playing at home against the Blue Jays at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
