Despite the defeat, Marshall had strong showings from Alyssa Helton, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds, and Calleigh Johnson, who scored nine points along with eight assists and six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Johnson posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Jakairi Blacknell, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
