The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles will challenge the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Calvary Christian Academy hadn't allowed a single run the last four times they've hit the field. Calvary Christian Academy never let Pine Crest get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Reese Mittauer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Mittauer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sofia Fine, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs.
Calvary Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart won against Immaculata-La Salle on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart blew past Marathon 11-4. Winning may never get old, but the Cyclones sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Madelyn Althage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart got a massive performance out of Isabella Whitby, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Veronica Franzino was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-5.
Calvary Christian Academy's record is now 5-3. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, their record is now 7-3.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Calvary Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .543.
