There's no place like home for the Springfield Longhorns, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road back in December of 2023. They came out on top against Granada by a score of 30-21 on Friday. The victory was just what Springfield needed coming off of a 51-30 defeat in their prior match.
Bay Ellis was her usual excellent self, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karina Garcia, who scored three points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Springfield's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2. As for Granada, they have fallen quite a ways from their 20-5 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Springfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cheyenne Wells at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Cheyenne Wells focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. Granada won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against La Veta at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully La Veta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 two weeks ago.
