The Wicomico Indians had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Pocomoke by a score of 82-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pocomoke's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Bonneville, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Zymiere Walker was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Wicomico pushed their record up to 11-8 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for Pocomoke, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Wicomico will be playing at home against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully the Indians like a good challenge. As for Pocomoke, they will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
