The Spring Creek Spartans suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Lowry 57-18. It was the first time this season that Spring Creek let down their fans at home.
Leading Lowry to victory were Britain Backus and Savannah Stoker. Backus scored 21 points along with five steals, while Stoker scored 20 points along with three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Backus has scored at least a third of Lowry's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Brinkerhoff, who scored two points along with three steals.
Spring Creek has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Lowry, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Spring Creek will be playing in front of their home fans against Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (Dayton is ranked 61st, while Spring Creek is ranked 55th). As for Lowry, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Elko at 1:00 p.m. on January 27th.
