The Kiefer Trojans put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westville 60-28 at home. Considering Kiefer has won seven games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kiefer got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zack Watson out in front who rushed for 112 yards and a touchdown. Watson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Alston Carr, who picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Kiefer's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-8 Westville and 2-8 Okmulgee (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.4% over those games). As for Westville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Kiefer will head out on the road to face off against Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Victory Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Westville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kansas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
