With a playoff game on the line, the Asheville School (Independent) Blues rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 55-0 victory over Hickory Grove Christian. The victory was familiar territory for Asheville School (Independent) who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Ricky Tolbert, who rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 189 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes. Justin Rowe was another key contributor, picking up 118 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Asheville School (Independent)'s win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 53.67 points. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-3 record this season.
Asheville School (Independent) will square off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Asheville School (Independent) likes a good challenge. Hickory Grove Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
