Pottsboro is 8-2 against Blue Ridge since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Pottsboro has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Pottsboro needed a bit of extra time to put away Bells. They skirted past the Panthers 10-8. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Braedan Trissell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Trissell was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cayden Humphreys and Carter Reeves did most of the damage at the plate: Humphreys went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Reeves scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Humphreys has posted since back in March. Michael Ermon was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Blue Ridge faced off against Bells on Friday. The Tigers fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Pottsboro pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blue Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Pottsboro beat Blue Ridge 8-4 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
