Whitman has played every game this season on their home field, but they'll have to hit the road on Friday. They will take on The Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two weeks ago, Whitman got themselves on the board against Waterloo, but Waterloo never followed suit. They breezed by the Tigers at home to the tune of 30-0.
Meanwhile, Clyde-Savannah put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 34-14 margin over Dryden. The result was nothing new for Clyde-Savannah, who have now won six matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Zymere Smith and John Whitfield were among the main playmakers for Clyde-Savannah as the former rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Smith is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Aidan Van Duyne did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 91 receiving yards.
Whitman's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Clyde-Savannah, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Whitman might still be hurting after the 34-8 loss they got from Clyde-Savannah in their previous matchup back in September of 2017. Thankfully for Whitman, Derrick Chance (who rushed for 122 yards and 14 touchdowns on only 12 carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
