Softball Recap: San Dieguito Academy Has No Trouble Against El Camino

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but San Dieguito Academy had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the El Camino Wildcats as they made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lauryn McGarry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Willow Wright, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Emi Adams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

San Dieguito Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for El Camino, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10.

San Dieguito Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-3 loss against Olympian on the 23rd. As for El Camino, they have also already played their next match, a 10-8 defeat against Coastal Academy on the 23rd.
