With a playoff win on the line, University Prep rose to the challenge  on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Durham Trojans with a sharp  16-3 victory. Considering the Panthers have won 13 matches by more than five  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Addison Petty was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Riley Villano, who  went 1-for-2 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: University Prep  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 13  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durham only managed eight  hits.
University Prep has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11-2 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Durham, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-9-1.
 Coming up, University Prep will face off against Colusa at 2:00  p.m.  on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the RedHawks have averaged an impressive 8.8  runs per game this season. Durham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
