Armstrong has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. Armstrong scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. Everything went their way against Freeport as Armstrong made off with a 66-44 win. Given Armstrong's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Freeport is ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Armstrong to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Valasek, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Ian Olsen, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Neshannock waltzed into their match Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They came out on top against Ellwood City by a score of 62-51.
Armstrong's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Neshannock, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
