The Thayer Academy Tigers had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Holy Child 53-29.
Several Gryphons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alessia Paladino, who scored 13 points. The game was Paladino's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Verlezza, who scored nine points.
Thayer Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Holy Child, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Thayer Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Noble & Greenough at 3:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Holy Child won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Middlesex at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th.
