Another player making a difference was Kmajay Jenkins, who scored eight points in addition to eight boards and five assists.
Tyj Narrius Jones was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 13 en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals for Laurens. That's the most steals Jones has posted since back in December of 2023. Q Quinton Watts was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points.
Westside's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Laurens, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Westside will be playing in front of their home fans against Wren at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wren knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 contests -- so hopefully Westside likes a good challenge. Laurens has already played their next matchup, a 69-57 win against Clinton on the 15th.
