The Eastside Lions had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They snuck past Palmdale with a 57-53 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Eastside, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keyron Scott, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malachi Garvin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
Eastside's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-15. As for Palmdale, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-18.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Santa Paula at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Santa Paula has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 330 points over their last five games. As for Palmdale, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Palmdale Academy Charter School at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
