The Elmwood Trojans's 22-10 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 34-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Delavan on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Elmwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 425th, while Delavan is ranked 90th).
Delavan can attribute much of their success to Alex Seaton, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds. Zach McLean was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 7 rebounds.
Elmwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Delavan, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Elmwood will be playing at home against Bushnell-Prairie City at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Delavan will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Tremont at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. One thing working in Tremont's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games.
