Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Grace Christian Academy was the 66-22 winner over Heritage Christian Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Grace Christian Academy Colts were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 54-53 to the Heritage Christian Academy Lions. The Colts' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Brycen Adams and Nash Reading certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Adams dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Reading went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points along with five assists and five steals. Reading has become a key player for Grace Christian Academy: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 2-5 otherwise. Kasyn Gaston was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Grace Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Among those leading the charge was Matthew Pappas, who posted 21 points. That's the most points he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Raiden Harrison, who had 12 points.

Grace Christian Academy now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Heritage Christian Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-15.

Grace Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 53-43 defeat against Community Christian on the 6th. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will square off against Joshua Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Joshua Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
